Chicken Soup for the soul....

Have you ever read this book ? I am reading the one that is called  Children with Special needs. Stories of Love and understanding for those who care for children with Disabilities. Well I wanted to share a story  from the book. The  title is called  The Miracle of Jay- Jay it's about a boy who has down syndrome and a mental retardation. His grandfather always ignores him. Why because when Jay-Jay was at the age of  3 he walked over to his grandpa and crawled onto his lap. Jay-Jay's grandpa was a little shocked, but what could he do in front of all those people? This was his grandson . How could they understand that he hardly knew Jay-Jay?                                                               Jay-Jay took his grandpa's glasses out of his shirt pocket and placed them on his own face, upside down. He looked at his granddad and laugh.Soon they were walking around the room, soon there was a smile on the older one's face.
Months  later  pa-pa decided to visit Jay-Jay he would  dress up as a clown and tried to make his grandpa laugh. But Jay -Jay, being an effervescent little boy, would not let  him remain  in darkness. With Jay-Jay's Love and actions, he showed Pa-Pa and others that they were missing out on some of  God's  greatest blessings by not loving and caring for him.
A strong bond began to form. Jay-Jay and his Pa-Pa began to call each other and write letters. They were best buddies  .                                                                                                                                      Years pasted by and Jay- Jay was nineteen, his beloved Pa-Pa died unexpectedly. One of  the hardest days of Jay's life was standing at his Pa-Pa's graveside as he was presented the  American  flag that draped the casket. Jay-Jay built a  bridge to his grandfather's heart  and changed both of their worlds forever.                                                                                                                                                 I hope you liked this! Cause I did.:)
